Holy Cross parish will hold its annual Summer Church Picnic this Sunday, September 8, 2019, immediately after the conclusion of the Liturgy of the Holy Eucharist, in Blair, Nebraska.
There will be no fellowship in the parish hall that day so everyone will be free to leave church for the picnic. Everyone is invited to attend and visitors are always welcome. The picnic will be held on the estate of parishioners who live on the outskirts of Blair, a small town of around 7,000 people. Directions to the picnic will be available on Sunday morning at church. Use your GPS, follow the written directions, or caravan with others from the church, but come — you will have a wonderful time!
We will be grilling hamburgers and hotdogs, and there will be other Main Dishes, as well as Side Dishes, Deserts and Drinks. Members of our church family are asked to bring any two items (Main Dishes, Sides, Deserts, or Drinks) to go with the grilled foods. Visitors are our guests, and do not have to bring a thing.
This Sunday, because of the annual Summer Church Picnic, Matins will be omitted and the Liturgy of the Holy Eucharist will begin an half hour early — at 9:30 AM.
There is no cost for the picnic, just come and plan to eat a wonderful lunch and to enjoy the day in small town America. Invite family and friends. Everyone will have a wonderful time. We hope to see you there!
